Mixing and adding the effects

Friday afternoon and today has involved the task of bringing in all the recorded samples and adding them into the session, making sure that timing is in place for for items such as foot steps, filtering effects done to make the sounds match their environments. Such as the sound of walking on carpet or on metal or how the environment changes the way a voice sounds if they were talking over a phone, in a reflective environment or in an area where sound is absorbed. Also time was spent making sure the mixing levels were correct throughout the course of the film so that they all had a matching level so no one part was overpowering another which means items such as gun fire, helicopter noise and the orchestral score being balanced at just the right levels and also making sure the same is in place for the vocals.

So many hours spend behind the Mac!
