Well today was the day of the interview with the RCS for a place on their Technical Production management course. This started with a tour of the facilities, this was my third visit to the Conservatoire but on every visit I see and learn more, managing to have a more in depth tour around the New Athanaeum Theatre managing to see the stage area, Lighting gallery, paint room and a lot more.
The interview panel was conducted by two staff members, of which one I had the opportunity to meet in December during the college visit when they invited us to spend some time with the Sound staff and students. So this alone helped a lot having a recognizable and welcoming member on the panel.
During the interview I had two tasks to talk about and to show what supporting work I had. The first area I covered was my thoughts and observations from a play I went to, in this case 'Picnic At Hanging Rock' which I saw at the lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh.
This was followed up by my take and thoughts towards a play after viewing the script. Taken from the point of view of Sound Production I went with a sound design covering the Balcony Scene from Romeo & Juliet.
To which I have included both documents I made for the interview onto a portfolio page, and to add to this I also prototyped my ideas onto a recorded play by the Royal Shakespeare Company with subtle sound cues added in based on what I've included on the sound cue plan.
