The use of a Hardware Plugin

As part of the requirements of Project Two, there was a request to use a hardware plugin as part of the finished recording. So rather then using a software reverb effect or software compressor on the instrument tracks this would be replaced with a hardware based version that is added into the chain.
During the recording for the vocals on both the male and female vocalists the use of Hardware compressors were used with the aim of giving a bit of a tighter feel to the sound as it is recorded live.
As part of using a hardware plugin as part of post processing then what was done on both the vocals, was to setup a hardware reverb effects unit so that the vocal performances could have a printed reverb track as part of the session.
The device in question is the Lexicon MPX1 multi effects processor.
with regard to the setup of this, the processor was added to the patchbay connection for both the audio in and out sections with two channels in use and within protools it was I/O'ed onto its own instrument track where the recording of the audio effect took place.
